Parents ask this constantly: can you store baby formula in the fridge, how long does a puree actually last, is it okay to keep baby food in the fridge overnight. The short answer is yes to most of these, but the details matter more than people think. Once formula is mixed, it should generally go in the fridge within an hour and be used within 24 hours; anything left out at room temperature for more than an hour is safer thrown out than reheated.
The same caution applies to homemade purees. A puree made from carrots, potatoes, or corn will usually keep for about 2 to 3 days in the fridge if it's stored in a clean, airtight container, and longer if frozen in small portions. Store-bought food, like hummus, is a bit different: check the label rather than assuming, since some jars are shelf-stable until opened and only need refrigeration afterward, while others are perishable from day one. When in doubt, it's simple: don't feed it to your baby.
The right containers make this whole process easier. A dedicated food storage and freezer tray set lets you portion and freeze purees without guessing quantities, and an insulated food jar keeps meals at a safe temperature when you're not eating at home. You'll find both, along with the rest of our food prep range, in the Food Prep & Utensils collection.
If bottles are part of the daily routine too, proper sterilizing and storage matter just as much as the food itself. Take a look at our Sterilizers & Bottle Warmers collection for options that make that step easier.
